Clinical Science program of Avalon University

Upon completion of the 5th semester, students will take the USMLE Step 1 examination and begin their clinical rotations. Clinical rotations are 72 weeks in duration, and are divided into Core (48 weeks) and Elective (24 weeks) rotations. Avalon University has many hospital affiliations with ACGME Green Book teaching hospitals across the United States. In addition, we are continually looking to expand on our affiliations with many more hospitals across the United States. The clinical rotations experience can be completed at one hospital or in one geographic area. Avalon University School of Medicine has one of the best clinical science programs, and the states where student would have the opportunity to compete their clinical rotations include Ohio, Illinois, West Virginia, Georgia, Nevada, and Arizona.

During clinical rotations, students will get the opportunity to apply their Basic Science knowledge to real patients in a hospital or clinic setting. With the hands on training and interaction with patients, students will build upon their medical knowledge and lay the foundation of their educational framework. It is an exciting aspect of their medical training, and requires great discipline and perseverance. The Clinical department of Avalon University will work closely with students to ensure they fully obtain the knowledge and skills from their clinical rotations, so they will be prepared for a rewarding residency position.

Avalon University’s Clinical department will schedule rotations for students to ensure a cohesive experience to avoid lapses in the student’s clinical medicine training.
